MARBLE - 'What Leads Us To'

It’s human nature for us to feel threatened over the success of others, the sheer will power it can take to feel happy instead sometimes not worth the effort, and the differing situations life is constantly throwing our way are always testing the very primitive fabric of our beings. The Seven Deadly Sins document forbidden emotions and judge our consciences on our ability to hold them at arms length, and Italian sextet Marble explore the consequences of envy in their latest single ‘What Leads Us To.’

Taken from their new album S.A.V.E, daunting distortion and disconcerting drums burst through the introduction, overflowing with melodic guitar riffs from Paul Beretta and Omar Gornati that transcend between the boundaries of power metal and classic heavy metal. Jacopo Marchesi’s stabbing keyboard notes emit a foreboding aura in this fabled tragedy between two childhood friends.

Eleonora Travaglino’s soft and delicate delivery of the vocals are comparable with that of Heart or Pat Benetar, the message of the song conveyed through a heavy Italian accent and broken English lyrics; ‘What leads us to crave for something that doesn’t belong to us?’

Bright guitar melodies travel into a heavier region as the pre-chorus exhibits signs of a thrash metal Metallica build up, mutating into a melodically modern Avenged Sevenfold styled chorus. Guitar solos soar toward the horizon of the track, the intricacies of which contain the trademark virtuosity of 80s stadium rock, as well as hammering bass lines from Daniel Fleba. It’s Norman Ceriotti’s pummelling drums however that elevates this track and Marble's sound to celestial heights.

‘What Leads Us To’ is out now across all streaming platforms and S.A.V.E is available for purchase here. To stay up to date with band information and touring updates, head to their socials linked below.
