Horror rock tribe King Of The Dead release their second single ‘Destroy My Name’ with an
accompanying lyric video. Following from their debut single ‘Control’, ‘Destroy My Name’ is the second instalment of a 5 part anthology about sacrifice, possession, and the occult.
The three-piece; Shah (Vocals & Guitar), Oddi (Bass), and Aldoir (Drums) mix elements of punk rock drawing from Alkaline Trio, the lyrical darkness of a group like GHOST, and a vocal style where the essence of WASP still hangs in the air, creating something altogether quite intoxicating.
Showcasing high energy drums, melodious guitar riffs, and soaring vocals, ‘Destroy My Name’ is an ode of rebirth, or as someone known only as The Familiar words it; “purging yourself of the shackles of everything you have ever been and becoming something else.” A daunting prospect for many a soul, but the harmonies lacing the chorus draw you in and puts you at ease just enough to ‘Forgive yourself/ Walk through the flame’.
An other-worldly guitar solo proves that we have indeed stepped through the looking glass into the world of the occult. The initiation ceremony ‘Destroy My Name’ comes across as is now at its peak as echoes of ‘destroy my name’ wash over you, the lyrical hook ringing of indoctrination. With the final chorus comes a new energy, that of breaking through the bars of your prison.
‘Destroy My Name’ is a 3 minute invitation to release yourself of the shackles of your inhibitions to the soundtrack of fast paced riffery and lyrical hooks you’ll be chanting to yourself in no time.
