HURRICANE ON SATURN - 'Outsider' | Single Review

Feeling like an outcast can be a strange thing; it can cause people to feel isolated,

aggressive, and volatile among other things. Most people at some point in their life will feel like they’re an outsider to their surroundings, whether that be at school, at work, in the gym etc. 'Outsider', the new single from Hurricane on Saturn explores this feeling and gives us a look behind the eyes of the Italian born band and their own experiences with feeling outcasted.

Hurricane on Saturn’s 'Outsider' opens up with a spacey ethereal synth part which

sounds reminiscent of 'Popular Monster' by Falling In Reverse, as the drums and vocals come in simultaneously. The rapped vocal lends itself well to the story telling of the song. Hurricane on Saturn's vocalist puts other bands on blast with obvious emphasis on his opinion of the rest of the rock scene, lyrics, and other bands in the rock scene. Singing about “if they were born where he was born" they would work long hours for low wages. At this point you start to understand the title choice of the song. The chorus of this song comes in like a slug to the chest with powerful drums and guitars working together to give power to this already charged song.

The vocals go from rapping in the verse to all out belting in the chorus; the vocalist again driving home his disengagement with the modern metal/rock scene. The title 'Outsider being sung harmoniously followed by “I’m born from a lesser god” lays bare his feelings of being

different or lesser than his rock and metal peers.

The bridge of this song is a stripped back version of the verse with the same synth part as the intro and the vocals being more hushed and back to the rapping style of the verse. 'Outsider' is available to listen to now across streaming platforms, and to stay up to date with Hurricane on Saturn information, visit their website here or their social media below.
