LIONHEART - 'The Reality of Miracles'

The upcoming Lionheart record ‘The Reality of Miracles,’ is an audible time machine into the 80s that emanates the cherished sound similar to that of Foreigner and Europe. With slithers of rockin’ rough riffs, the albums dominant power metal vibe sends the listener gallivanting on an epic journey far away from the consuming madness of 2020.

The albums lead single, ‘Thine is the Kingdom’, has a narrative dedicated to the beauty of New York City and presents the bright and cheerful feeling that weaves its way throughout the records track listing.

Choral harmonies are in abundance as a staple feature within every tracks’ chorus, exuding with infectious positivity that’s heightened by the omnipresent synthesisers. ‘High Plains Drifter’s’ Whitesnake based melody in particular contradicts with its melancholic lyrics, ‘I got no rhythm but I got the blues.’

The initial easy listening of the record is broken up by the tempo change on the fifth track ‘Five Tribes.’ Standing at the helm is the captivating and gripping guitar work, more prominent in the forefront compared with the albums onset. The AC/DC styled riff on ‘Overdrive’ confirms the harder musical intricacies on the latter half of the album.

‘Love comes in every colour,’ exclaims the spoken word introduction to the records finale, ‘Still it Rains on Planet Earth.’ The utopian optimism of Lionheart is a welcoming one, a reminder of better days, making it easy to escape into the fantasy world of ‘The Reality of Miracles.’

Album released July 31st.
